Charge for 911
Re “Errant Cell Calls Are Clogging 911 System,” Nov. 17: I have a suggestion. Why not bill all these offenders $50 a call? I mean for all calls, not just cell phone users. This will make many individuals more careful and send a strong message to those like the woman concerned with her dog’s haircut. We can set up a system with the phone companies to do the billing. An ad campaign will fall like a rock on those like the woman with the dog. If the cost of the errant phone calls does not deter these people, the additional funds will help the system to better cope.
