No. 2 Kansas Cruises to Preseason NIT Victory

Nick Collison scored 25 points and Keith Langford had a career-high 24 as No. 2 Kansas romped past North Carolina Greensboro, 105-66, Friday night in the second round of the Preseason NIT at Lawrence, Kan.

The Jayhawks (2-0) advanced to the semifinals in New York, where they will play North Carolina, the alma mater of Kansas Coach Roy Williams and the school that tried to hire him two years ago.

Jay Joseph scored a career-high 27 points Greensboro (1-1).

No. 4 Alabama 82, Alabama State 56 -- Mo Williams scored 20 points for the Crimson Tide (2-0) at Tuscaloosa, Ala.

No. 9 Michigan State 66, N.C. Asheville 52 -- Chris Hill had 18 points for the Spartans at East Lansing, Mich., in their season opener.

No. 16 Marquette 64, Coppin State 46 -- Dwyane Wade’s 24 points led the Golden Eagles (2-0) at Milwaukee.

No. 20 Missouri 72, American 57 -- Ricky Clemons had 25 points for the Tigers at Columbia, Mo., in their season opener.

No. 21 Gonzaga 69, Hofstra 61 -- Cory Violette scored 17 points, including two dunks in a 12-2 run in the second half that helped the Bulldogs pull away at Spokane, Wash., in their season opener.
