Barry’s Shot Sends the Spurs to Defeat

Brent Barry’s second basket of the game, a three-pointer with 4.7 seconds left, gave the Seattle SuperSonics a 91-90 victory over the Spurs Sunday night at San Antonio.

The win ended the Seattle’s three-game losing streak and ended the Spurs’ four-game winning streak. The SuperSonics, who trailed from the second quarter until Barry’s shot, were led by Gary Payton’s 26 points.

Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 22 points, and David Robinson added 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Minnesota 106, New York 88 -- Kevin Garnett had 25 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists as the Timberwolves used their substantial height advantage to win at Madison Square Garden. Allan Houston scored 32 points, but the Knicks lost for the 10th time in 12 games this season.

Orlando 77, Miami 75 -- Mike Miller made a 22-foot jumper with one second left at Orlando, Fla., as the Magic survived the absence of their two best players -- league-leading scorer Tracy McGrady (back spasms) and Grant Hill (ankle) -- to beat the Heat. In all, Miller had 31 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.

Philadelphia 94, Toronto 84 -- Allen Iverson scored 37 points at Toronto to help the 76ers hand the Raptors their fifth consecutive loss. Iverson, who has scored 30 or more points in his last four games, had 23 points in the second half.
