A 35-year-old substitute teacher already charged with more than a dozen counts of having sex with his students was arrested Monday on four new charges.

Todd J. Haluch of Huntington Beach had been free after posting $250,000 bond on the original charges, but a Superior Court judge increased his bail by $250,000 and returned him to jail. He was ordered to return to court Oct. 16 to enter a plea.

Haluch was originally charged with 13 counts of sexual abuse involving four girls ranging in age from 13 to 17. Newport Beach Police Sgt. Steve Shulman said the four new charges resulted after authorities learned of a fifth alleged victim.
