Man Arrested in Beating Death of Wife

A man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of killing his wife at a home in southwest Los Angeles, police said.
Carlos Campos, 28, allegedly struck his wife several times on the head with a hammer early Saturday morning during an argument, police said. Officers arrived at the South 10th Avenue address at about 2:45 a.m. Eva Guadalupe Garcia, 35, died at the scene. Her 13-year-old son was injured as he tried to intervene, police said. He was being treated at a hospital.
Campos was being held on $1-million bail.
