Dinwiddie Ignites Boise State
Ryan Dinwiddie, in his return from a broken right ankle suffered earlier in the season, threw five touchdown passes, and Boise State gained a school-record 688 yards to defeat Fresno State, 67-21, in a Western Athletic Conference game Friday night at Boise, Idaho.
Dinwiddie completed 19 of 22 passes for 406 yards as the Broncos (6-1, 3-0 in the WAC) won before 30,924, the largest crowd to ever watch a sporting event in Idaho. Paul Pinegar passed for 371 yards for the Bulldogs (4-4, 2-1).

Oregon backup defensive end Roderkus Wright has been suspended indefinitely for breaking an undisclosed team rule.... Mississippi State freshman Nick Turner reportedly is part of an investigation into the passing of counterfeit $100 bills Tuesday night at the Remington Hunt Club, a Starkville, Miss., nightclub. No charges have been filed against Turner, and the tailback was on the Bulldogs’ 68-player travel roster for tonight’s game at Memphis.... Alabama, which is banned from playing in a bowl game through next season because of NCAA violations, announced it will make a return trip to Hawaii to conclude the 2003 season. The teams’ first-ever meeting is Nov. 30.
