More Charges in Death of Texas Man Stuck in Windshield
FORT WORTH — A third person was indicted Thursday in the case of a homeless man who was hit by a car and left lodged in the windshield until he died.
Herbert Cleveland, 24, was charged with helping dump the man’s body in Cobb Park to try to conceal the alleged hit and run.
According to police, Chante Mallard told investigators she was returning from a nightclub Oct. 26 when she hit Gregory Biggs.
Police say she drove home with Biggs, 37, stuck in the windshield, hid the car in her garage and apologized to him but didn’t seek help because she was afraid.
Police say Biggs may have survived with medical attention.
Mallard, 26, was indicted in April on charges of murder and tampering with evidence.
Cleveland was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Another man, Clete Jackson, 27, was indicted in July on the same charge.
All three remained jailed.
