Man, 63, Found in Ransacked Home Dies

A 63-year-old man who was found unconscious in his ransacked home was dead on arrival Monday at Verdugo Hills Hospital, police said.

The man’s son called police shortly before noon when he found his father, who also had suffered lacerations, in the home on Dolorita Avenue. Herair Jordan apparently had been the victim of a home-invasion robbery, police said.

Incorrect age -- An article in the Aug. 26 California section had an incorrect age for Herair Jordan, who died following a home-invasion robbery at his Verdugo Hills home. He was 61, not 63.

Jordan’s car is missing, police said. The dark blue 1997 Mercedes-Benz E320 has license plate number 3UAV546.
