There’s No Place Like Home for the Flyers

Jim Vandermeer, Tony Amonte and John LeClair scored to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to their 11th straight victory at home, 3-2, over the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday night.

The Flyers, who lead the NHL with 38 points, are 12-0-2 at the Wachovia Center this season, the only team unbeaten at home. Robert Esche stopped 18 shots to improve to 8-2-2.

Calgary 2, Minnesota 1 -- Jarome Iginla scored with 22.8 seconds left to give the Flames the victory at Calgary. The Flames have earned points in nine straight games (6-0-1-2).

Montreal 1, Carolina 1 -- Mike Ribeiro scored a power-play goal with less than six minutes left at Raleigh, N.C., to give the Canadiens the tie. Jose Theodore stopped 36 shots for Montreal, which is unbeaten in four straight (2-0-2).

Markus Naslund of the Vancouver Canucks, second in the league in scoring with 32 points, will sit out tonight’s game against the Minnesota Wild because of a groin injury.... Flyer forward Claude Lapointe entered the NHL’s substance abuse treatment program to help him deal with depression, a source close to Lapointe said.
