The shift was dramatic for Bonzi Wells.

The last time he was on the floor with Memphis facing Portland, he scored 17 points to help the Trail Blazers to victory.

But Sunday, Wells had 16 points for the Grizzlies as they beat the Trail Blazers, 93-79, and kept them winless on the road (0-6).

The Grizzlies extended their winning streak to five and are 6-6 against Western Conference competition. At 11-8 overall, they are above .500 in December for the first time in franchise history.

The Trail Blazers won their previous game with the Grizzlies, 93-87, at Portland last month.

Wells was traded to Memphis on Wednesday and played against his old teammates for the first time.

Portland had a 15-point lead in the second quarter, but Memphis erased it in the third and put the game away in the fourth, when Wells scored 10 of his points, including the final two of the game.

Portland was led by Zach Randolph, who scored 29 points and had 13 rebounds.

Toronto 108, Seattle 98 -- Rookie Chris Bosh had 22 points and 16 rebounds, and Vince Carter scored 30 points at Toronto to lead the Raptors to their fourth consecutive victory.

“I can’t believe he’s 19. He’s going to have to show me his ID,” Toronto’s Morris Peterson said of Bosh. “Usually, when guys come into the league after one year of college they rush. He takes his time.

“He lets the game come to him. He makes the right play always. That’s very rare. He reminds me of a younger Tim Duncan.”

Boston 116, Denver 111 -- The Celtics appeared to have the game at Denver in hand when Paul Pierce -- who scored 33 points -- made two free throws to make the score 111-102.

But after Rodney White made two three-point baskets to get the Nuggets to within 113-111 with 28 seconds left, Mike James and Pierce each made two free throws to clinch the win.
