Pedestrians at Fault in 2 Fatalities, Police Say
Two pedestrians were killed in unrelated accidents in Santa Ana, police said.
At 6:45 a.m. Monday, Guadalupe Santiago, 60, of Santa Ana, who was either picking up cans or trying to cross the street, died near Jackson and Pine streets. About 5 p.m. Sunday, Thuy Tran, 60, also of Santa Ana, was killed as she crossed Euclid Street in the crosswalk, against the light.
No charges have been filed against either motorist, and alcohol or drugs did not appear to be involved. In both cases, police Sgt. Baltazar De La Riva said, the pedestrians were at fault.
