Ortega Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Car

A man walking along Ortega Highway early Friday was struck and killed by a car, authorities said.
The man, who was not identified pending notification of relatives, was hit shortly before 4 a.m. walking east about six miles east of Interstate 5, said a California Highway Patrol officer.
The man was declared dead at the scene, officers said.
The driver, Dario Lopez, 35, of Santa Ana was not injured. No citations were issued pending an investigation.
