Pepperdine (13-10, 5-5) at Santa Clara (11-11, 2-7), 1 p.m., Fox Sports Net 2, KPLS (830) -- Pepperdine defeated San Diego, 98-93, Thursday to jump into fourth place in the West Coast Conference, a significant move because the top four teams will get first-round byes in the conference tournament. The Waves shot 55.4% from the field, including 57.1% (16 of 28) from three-point range. Jimmy Miggins’ three-point basket broke a 93-93 tie with 22 seconds left. Reserve guard Mike Westphal, son of Coach Paul Westphal, led Pepperdine with a career-best 21 points. Santa Clara has lost four in a row after falling to Loyola Marymount, 73-61, on Thursday.

WOMEN

No. 24 Arizona (16-7, 9-5) at USC (12-12, 7-6), Sports Arena, 2 p.m. -- The climb to respectability continues for the Trojans, who evened their record with a win over Arizona State Friday. The victory also moved USC over .500 in conference play for the first time. Forward Rachael Woodward is averaging 12.6 points the last three games. The Wildcats looked like one of the top three Pacific 10 teams until their unexpected stumble at UCLA.

Arizona State (14-9, 6-8) at UCLA (13-9, 8-5), Pauley Pavilion, 2 p.m., KBET (850), KTDD (1350) -- The Bruins were 0-3 against ranked teams until their upset of No. 24 Arizona on Friday. The Sun Devils, caught up in a three-game losing streak after falling to USC on Friday, have won their last two games in Westwood. But Arizona State has been awful on the road, going 1-7 this season as a Pac-10 visitor.
