* Using a driver, Woods pulls his tee shot into the left rough, meaning he has to lay up, about 80 yards from the hole. His wedge to 12 feet leaves gives him another birdie chance, but his putt slides past the left edge.

* Looking to carry a fairway bunker on the right side, Woods winds up in the sand. From 187 yards, his approach leaves him 60 feet from the hole and he misreads the uphill putt, leaving it six feet away. He misses, and the bogey drops him back to even par.

* A nice iron shot heads right at the flag and checks up about 12 feet short. His birdie effort burns the left edge of the hole, but doesn’t drop.

* With a big drive, a three-wood and a nice chip, Woods has a three-foot birdie putt, but then the fun begins. His frustration clearly shows as his birdie try jets past the right side, and he curses himself. During the downswing of his six-foot par attempt, a cell phone rings in the gallery, angering Woods further. To make matters worse, he misses the putt, then curses out the fan. He makes a two-footer for a three-putt bogey, then glares at the fan.

No. 18, 451 yards, par 4

* A clearly angered Woods takes out his frustration on his tee shot, a 303-yard blast with a driver on the uphill finishing hole, which played as the toughest hole on the course Thursday. The horn blows, allowing players to suspend their rounds because of darkness, but Woods and his partners decide to finish. Woods hit a short iron shot to the back of the green, leaving a tricky 30-foot downhill putt for birdie. Woods two-putts for a par and a one-over 72.
