Lynyrd Skynrd album delayed
The rock band Lynyrd Skynrd has postponed the release of its first new studio album in four years after lead guitarist Gary Rossington underwent open heart surgery.
The band issued a statement Wednesday saying Rossington, 51, was expected to be fully recovered within two to three months following quintuple bypass surgery. He had been suffering what was described as severe coronary artery disease.
Meantime, the album, “Vicious Cycle,” which was to have been released May 6, will now come out in late June.
