Laguna Hills Teenager Is 6th Victim of Crash
A Laguna Hills teenager has died from injuries sustained this week in an accident that claimed five other lives on a remote stretch of highway in San Bernardino County.
Aimee White, 15, died about 5 p.m. Tuesday at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton following the accident the day before on Highway 395 about eight miles north of Kramer Junction. Also killed were Juan Carlos Zelaya Jr., 25, of Tustin -- driver of the pickup in which White was riding -- and four members of a Ridgecrest family whose van hit the truck head on.
Celeste R. Marquez, 19, also of Laguna Hills, remained in the hospital’s intensive care unit with multiple fractures.
The accident occurred Monday night on the two-lane highway when the northbound van drifted across the median line and struck the southbound pickup, investigators said.
