Cooling-Off Period Ordered in MTA Talks

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Monday ordered a 60-day cooling-off period in the labor dispute between the MTA and its bus and train drivers. The action by Judge David Yaffe bars the drivers from striking and the transit agency from locking out its workers while labor talks proceed over the next 60 days.
The United Transportation Union, which represents the transit agency’s drivers, asked for the injunction.
