Fire Claims 6 Houses, 14,000 Acres Near Park
From Times Wire Reports
At least six houses burned in a blaze that blew up along the western edge of Glacier National Park, officials said. The fire has burned 14,000 acres west of the park, Flathead County Sheriff Jim Dupont said. No one was injured in the blaze, which threatens hundreds of homes.
Two other fires in Glacier prompted officials Thursday to evacuate the western side of the 1-million-acre park in northwestern Montana. The fires remained out of control.
