City to Offer $25,000 Reward for Clues in Sun Valley Slaying
A $25,000 reward will be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man suspected of killing a 16-year-old girl in Sun Valley.
The victim, Martha Puebla, was fatally shot May 12 outside her home in the 7600 block of Case Avenue, Los Angeles police said.
“The murder of this young woman is a tragedy of the worst kind,” said Los Angeles City Councilwoman Ruth Galanter, who represents the area and sponsored the motion to authorize the reward. “I hope my commitment to finding the person responsible for Martha’s death brings [the family] some comfort.”
The council is expected to approve the motion on Wednesday.
Witnesses described the suspect as a Latino man, 19 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 9, and having a medium build, short hair and a mustache. He appeared to be a gang member.
He left the scene in a black, four-door 2000 Chevy Malibu with tinted windows, witnesses said.
