Ex-Marine Pleads Guilty in Daughter’s Death

A former Marine accused of beating his infant daughter to death has pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder.
Santos Lombera Jr., 23, entered the plea Wednesday as jurors waited outside the courtroom for the start of his trial.
Lombera was charged with assault on a child resulting in death in the March 2002 slaying of his daughter, Alysea, 5 months.Under a plea agreement, he will face a term of 15 years.
