Those hoping for another pick-six carry-over at Hollywood Park and Churchill Downs were disappointed Wednesday.

The wager was nailed at both tracks and proved to be especially lucrative in Kentucky.

One ticket, purchased at a simulcast facility in Idaho, had all six winners at Churchill Downs, and the payoff was a record $1,168,136. According to a hub in Maine, which processed the winning wager, the unidentified ticket holder or holders invested $6,720.

Untouched for the previous six racing days, the Churchill Downs’ pick-six carry-over was $329,989, the seventh largest since the track began offering the bet in 1984, and an additional $1,379,667 was bet Wednesday, so the total pick six pool was a record $1,709,656.

Favorites Halory Leigh ($7.20) and Rowans Park ($5.60) won the final two races in the sequence, but the other winners were longshots -- Favorite Magic ($14.80), I’m So Silly ($32), Dilechance ($17) and Bin’s Baby Bun ($38).

The previous record for the largest pick six return at Churchill Downs was $417,389, when there were three winning tickets on May 10, 1995.

Six tickets swept races 3-8 on the Hollywood Park card and the return was $120,468 as only one favorite -- third-race winner Flying Pilot -- was successful.

The biggest surprise came in the day’s final race, when 10-1 shot Bold Hush and jockey Alex Solis rallied past 6-5 choice Lago Maggiore and six other 2-year-olds in the $40,000 maiden claimer.

This was the second of successive victories for Solis. He also won the day’s feature with 7-2 shot Fun House. Leading rider Patrick Valenzuela also won twice, taking the second with No Issues and the fifth with Pocketfullofpesos.

Making her first start since Jan. 25 for trainer Mike Mitchell, Pocketfullofpesos beat a field that included Ask Not, who was seeking her fourth win in a row for owner Ken McKay and trainer Bill Spawr.

If Santa Catarina works well over the turf this morning for trainer Bob Baffert, the Hollywood Breeders’ Cup Oaks winner is expected to join what would be a full field of 14 for the $750,000 American Oaks, which will be run for the second time July 5 at Hollywood Park.

The 1 1/4-mile turf affair, which was won last year by Megahertz after Dublino was disqualified, will feature 3-year-old fillies. The probables are Quero Quero, Atlantic Ocean, Go For Glamour, Achnasheen, Fortuitous, Gal O Gal, Personal Legend, Sand Springs, Dimitrova, Golden Nepi, Liska, Meridiana and Welcome Millenium.
