Sex Charge Against School Official Dropped

Citing insufficient evidence, L.A. County prosecutor Rouman Ebrahim dropped all charges this week against Antelope Valley High School administrator Gilbert John Lara.
Lara had been charged with committing oral copulation on a minor after a former student’s accusation of an illicit sexual relationship.
Lara, who has been on unpaid administrative leave since January, may return to work, said Tim Azevedo, assistant superintendent of personnel service.
