Injured Infant Boy Still in Critical Condition
A 7-month-old boy allegedly beaten by his mother’s boyfriend remains in critical condition Friday at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
The baby, who suffered blunt head trauma, was breathing with the help of a respirator, said Gardena Police Det. Russ Temple. Police said Michael Jerome Marks, 30, also choked the infant’s mother and abducted her 5-year-old son on Thursday. The woman was recovering and the older child was later found unhurt, police said.
Marks is expected to be arraigned Monday on charges of attempted murder and kidnapping, Temple said.
