Share

Claimed for $2,500 on Dec. 1, Royal Classic Cat will try for a fifth consecutive win in the $15,000 San Diego Handicap tonight.

Owned and trained by Adan Farias, the 4-year-old A Classic Dash mare has moved up the ladder during her winning streak. In her first race for Farias, she beat $4,000 claimers by two lengths, then won by a half a length against $8,000 foes Jan. 24. Later she jumped to the $20,000 plateau and won by a nose.

Eddie Garcia has been her rider during Royal Classic Cat’s roll, but with the jockey moving to Yak Ity Yak Go, Rodrigo Aceves will take over in the 220-yard race.
