Lawsuit Over Woman’s Death at Knott’s Settled

The family of a 40-year-old Duarte woman who fell to her death from the Perilous Plunge thrill ride has settled a wrongful-death lawsuit against Knott’s Berry Farm and Intamin, the ride manufacturer.
Settlement details were confidential and did not include an admission of guilt.
Lori Mason-Larez died Sept. 21, 2001, after she slipped out of a seat belt and fell about 115 feet. State investigators blamed the accident on inadequate safety restraints.
