A 78-year-old Fillmore man was killed Sunday and his wife seriously injured when he pulled his car into the path of a motor home on California 126 near Piru.
Shortly before 5 p.m., the man, whose name was not immediately released, was turning from Hopper Canyon Road onto the westbound highway lanes when he was broadsided, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.
A helicopter transported the man’s wife to Simi Valley Hospital with major injuries. Her condition was not immediately available. No one in the motor home was injured and the crash remained under investigation.
