A Bellflower woman who was not wearing a seat belt suffered major injuries Saturday when her sport utility vehicle flipped over on the Riverside Freeway, ejecting her, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Her two children, ages 1 and 3, were unhurt in the accident, which occurred about 1:30 p.m. on the westbound freeway at Weir Canyon Road.

The woman, 24, was traveling 55 to 60 mph when her 1994 Ford Explorer “experienced some type of tire failure,” officers said.
