SAG Official Resigns, Citing Infighting

The Screen Actors Guild is losing one of its top executives, who said she has had it with board infighting that has plagued the union for years.
In her resignation letter, Chief Financial Officer Francesca Hickson said that it “has become harder and harder to witness such self-destructive behavior, much less understand what motivates it.”
Hickson also expressed disappointment over the bitter battle in which actors narrowly failed to pass a proposal to merge SAG with its sister union, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
SAG Chief Executive A. Robert Pisano said Hickson “single-handedly brought this institution into the 21st century” through such efforts as reorganizing the union’s financial reporting and information technology operations.
