Ex-Convict Cousin Held After Girl Is Found

A 10-year-old Palmdale girl who disappeared Monday night after her mother let her go with a cousin, an ex-convict, to a convenience store was found early Wednesday morning in Arleta.
Officials said that the cousin, Duran Edward Lyles, 33, was arrested and is being held in Lancaster on $135,000 bail on suspicion of kidnapping and sexual assault against a minor.
The girl is being held in protective custody, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Juarez.
