School Board President Won’t Seek Reelection
From Times Wire Reports
School board President Ron Ottinger will not run for reelection next year, clearing the way for a fresh slate of school trustees.
Ottinger, 46, was first elected to the board in 1992 and has served six terms as board president.
He has been the most vocal champion of Supt. Alan Bersin, a former U.S. attorney whose push to reform the schools has divided the board.
Ottinger will vacate his seat at the end of next year.
