Elektra to Move Into Building With Atlantic

Share

Time Warner Inc. plans to move its Elektra Entertainment Group label out of its New York corporate headquarters and into offices in a building occupied by the conglomerate’s Atlantic Records label.

Elektra executives described the move, expected in January, as a “distracting but necessary cost-cutting measure” for the label, which releases music by acts such as Metallica, Jet and Missy Elliott.

Label representatives downplayed speculation that the label would be combined with Atlantic. The relocation plan comes as Time Warner is considering a possible sale of its recorded-music division.
