Boy, 6, on Life Support in Drive-By Shooting
A 6-year-old boy was on life support Monday after he was struck by a bullet Sunday night in what police said was a drive-by shooting in the 600 block of East 87th Place.
“We are seeking whatever assistance the public can provide on the case,” Police Chief William J. Bratton said at a news conference Monday.
Bratton called the weekend unusually violent.
Within about three hours of the 7:45 p.m. shooting of the boy, DeAngelo Beck, on Sunday, five other people were shot and wounded in separate incidents in Southwest Los Angeles, according to police.
