Tennessee Titan cornerback Samari Rolle will be out three to six weeks because of a broken and dislocated left elbow.

Rolle was injured on New England’s opening drive in the Patriots’ 38-30 victory Sunday. He wore a sling Monday in the locker room.

Titan Coach Jeff Fisher said on his television show that Rolle has small fractures in the elbow. Doctors planned to immobilize Rolle’s elbow and reduce the swelling before he’s allowed to resume activity.

Rolle’s injury will probably result in the Titans’ starting second-year man Tony Beckham in his place. Beckham, a fourth-round draft pick last year from NCAA Division III Wisconsin-Stout, missed a tackle that set up a New England field goal.

Tight end Jeremy Shockey of the New York Giants vented some frustration after the team’s 23-10 loss to Miami on Sunday by criticizing fans who left Giants Stadium with six minutes to play and the Dolphins leading, 16-10.

“Give up on us if you want to,” said Shockey, who had a career-best 11 receptions for 110 yards. “If you want to leave, leave. Leave the game. Don’t even come to the game. Give your tickets away.

“We have the best fans in the world, when we are doing things right. But when things are kind of hitting the fan and they are going bad, they don’t want to have any part of us, which is fine.

“We play for ourselves. We play for ourselves and the coaches.”

Kansas City Coach Dick Vermeil said a clipping call could have been made during Dante Hall’s 93-yard punt return with a little more than eight minutes to play that sent the Chiefs over Denver, 24-23, Sunday. The penalty would have nullified the game-winning touchdown.

“It’s a judgment call. If I were the Broncos, I’d say I want it called,” Vermeil said.

Vermeil said it depends on the angle from which the play is viewed to determine if Julian Battle hit his man on the back or shoulder.
