Council Bans Scooters on Coastal Hiking Trail

The City Council approved an ordinance that outlaws motorized scooters on a portion of a popular paved oceanfront hiking trail.
The Tuesday night vote bans stand-up and sit-down motorized scooters. It does not apply to motorized wheelchairs.
The trail along the bay is one of the city’s most popular park spaces.
