Suspect Is Arrested After 3 Are Shot in Restaurant

Two men and a woman inside a restaurant were wounded early Saturday after a gunman, who was later shot and captured by police, opened fire, authorities said.

A man and woman in their 40s were hospitalized in stable condition and an unidentified man was listed in critical condition, said Officer Lucy Diaz of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The shooting occurred about 12:15 a.m. at a restaurant in the 12900 block of Sherman Way, but the motive was unclear, Diaz said.

Few details were released by police. The male suspect was shot and hospitalized hours later after at least one SWAT team member shot him after he barricaded himself in a Van Nuys residence. The suspect’s condition was not disclosed.
