Adept at running second, Red High Heels will try to break through with her second victory in tonight’s ninth, an $11,550 allowance at 300 yards.

Trained by Adan Farias, Red High Heels, a 2-year-old daughter of Corona Cartel, has been the runner-up in five of her seven races. Since her only victory on July 11, she has been second in three races in a row.

Rodrigo Aceves, who has been aboard in five of her seven starts, has the mount and they will break from the outside in a field of six.

The only horse in the field coming off a win is Kingman Kin. The Raise a Secret filly won at first asking for owner Ed Allred and trainer Jesus Enriquez on Sept. 28. She will leave from the inside post under jockey Eddie Garcia as she stretches out 80 yards. Kingman Kin won at 220 in her debut.

Shots in the dark: Hez de Rocket makes his Los Alamitos debut for trainer Chuck Treece in the fifth. Casana had a troubled trip in her latest and could rebound for trainer Paul Jones in the ninth.
