In Wilderness, Humans Are the Outsiders

Share

Re “Cougar Shot, Killed in South County,” Oct. 7:

It sickens me to read about those morons at Fish and Game killing animals because they behaved like animals. We hear about it all the time: mountain lions in San Juan Capistrano, coyotes in San Clemente, bears in the foothills, and now the mauling in Alaska. It’s the humans, stupid.

Humans need to learn that if they choose to live in or near wilderness, or if they choose to camp out in the woods, they are the intruders. They are encroaching in the animals’ habitat.

Get the hint: Animals do not want us there, nor do they choose to be our entertainment, recreation or subjects of study. They are wild animals and deserve respect.
