3 Shot Dead in Separate Attacks

Three young men were shot to death in separate incidents during a 12-hour period Monday and Tuesday in San Bernardino, police said.

As of early Tuesday night, no arrests had been made in any of the shootings.

Markell Washington, 23, of Rialto was struck by gunshots fired into an apartment complex early Tuesday.

Police said Washington was visiting his girlfriend when someone outside yelled his name. Shots were fired into the apartment, leaving Washington dead at the scene, police said.

On Monday, police said, Alberts Licory, 24, of San Bernardino was standing outside his residence at 21st Street and Western Avenue at 11:32 p.m. when someone approached him and began shooting.

Licory tried to escape by running around a car, but he was shot repeatedly and eventually fell dead in the street. The suspect ran from the scene and has not been captured, police said.

At 1:45 p.m. Monday, Christopher Garcia, 23, of San Bernardino was allegedly involved in a drug deal in the 1500 block of West Gilbert Street when he got into a fistfight, police said. The suspect shot Garcia to death.
