* 7 Turnovers by Los Alamitos, previously ranked No. 1 in the Southland by The Times and No. 2 in the state, in its 21-16 Sunset League loss to Fountain Valley.
* 26 First-quarter points scored by Big Bear, which lost to Twentynine Palms, 34-26.
* 99 Yards gained in 22 carries by Costa Mesa’s Omar Ruiz, who had his three-game streak of 200-yard rushing efforts ended in a 21-3 Golden West League loss to Orange.
* 124 Combined points in San Bernardino Arroyo Valley’s 70-54 victory over San Bernardino, the 11th-highest total in state history but the second-highest total since 1924.
PLAYMAKERS
* Kareem Yhamel caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Alex Gober with 36 seconds left to lift Santa Ana over Costa Mesa Estancia, 26-20, in a Golden West League game.
* Quarterback Terry Newsome passed laterally to Joseph Higgens, who threw downfield to Alan Perez for a 55-yard score with 44 seconds left to give Sylmar a 28-21 Valley Mission League victory over Monroe.
* Quinn Porter scored in overtime and Josh Harkins kicked the extra point to give Quartz Hill a 21-20 victory over Lancaster in a Golden League game.
STANDOUTS
* Sean Baier returned an interception 100 yards to clinch Ojai Nordhoff’s 18-10 win over Oak Park.
* North Hollywood’s Marlon Lucky rushed 34 times for 336 yards and scored five touchdowns, but the Huskies lost a Sunset Six League game to Van Nuys Grant, 37-33.
