Hahn Aide Resigns to Be Padilla’s Chief of Staff
From Times Staff Reports
The reshuffling continues at Los Angeles City Hall as Felipe Fuentes, who has been Mayor James K. Hahn’s point person on secession and San Fernando Valley issues, announced that he is quitting as deputy mayor to become chief of staff for City Council President Alex Padilla.
Fuentes replaces Monique Kagan, who is resigning as Padilla’s top advisor, effective next month, to spend more time with her children.
Fuentes worked for Padilla from 1999 to 2001 before joining Hahn’s office.
