Argument at Mechanic’s Ends in Fatal Shooting

An argument at a car repair shop led to the fatal shooting Wednesday of one man and the critical wounding of a bystander.
Police said the argument between two of the men started about 2 p.m. on a sidewalk in the 5000 block of Hollywood Boulevard. It continued as the men walked to the parking lot, where one pulled out a gun and shot the other and a bystander.
The victim involved in the argument died on his way to County-USC Hospital, officials said. The bystander was listed in critical condition. The killer fled.
