CBS, Taco Bell Execs Join KB Home Board

Leslie Moonves, chairman of the CBS television network, has been elected to the board of directors of Los Angeles-based KB Home, the company announced Friday.

The appointment comes as Moonves’ star continues to rise within Viacom Inc., which owns CBS.

When Moonves took over CBS Entertainment in 1995, the network was mired in third place. It is now the most-watched network and, unlike its rivals, this season CBS has increased its viewership among young adults, which advertisers pay the most to reach.

Moonves’ “marketing savvy and intimate knowledge of trends in our target demographic will be invaluable,” Bruce Karatz, KB Home’s chairman, said in a statement.

Melissa Lora, chief financial officer of Taco Bell Corp., was also elected to the homebuilder’s 11-member board.
