Man, 32, Is Sentenced to 10 Years for Assault

A San Bernardino County man who was acquitted of charges that he kidnapped and attempted to kill an 18-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to assault with a semiautomatic weapon.
Ibnali Anthony Omar, 32, was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison. He will have to serve at least 8 1/2 years before he is eligible for parole.
Omar was accused of raping a woman at gunpoint while driving her from Rancho Cucamonga to San Diego County in April 2003.
