An argument among customers escalated into a shooting at a Canoga Park nightclub, leaving a 36-year-old man dead and a security guard wounded, authorities said Friday.

The shooting occurred about 10 p.m. Thursday at Piccadilly’s Club, 8410 Topanga Canyon Blvd. Los Angeles police said a security guard was trying to defuse a dispute inside the club when a man brandished a gun.

The gunman went to a front parking lot and fired multiple rounds into the club, striking the guard and a customer from Canoga Park, Officer Eduardo Funes said. The customer died at a hospital. The security guard suffered a single bullet wound to the upper body and was taken to a local hospital, Funes said.

The gunman left in a dark vehicle with two other men. Two men, both from Canoga Park, were taken into custody Friday at their residence, Funes said. He identified them as Manuel Sanchez Perez, 30, and Jesus Delgadillo-Castellanos, 59.

Investigators are seeking a third man. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (818) 756-8291 or (818) 756-8285.
