Fatal Leap Off Overpass Closes Part of Freeway

Officers closed all but two lanes of the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway for several hours Monday after a man jumped to his death off the Crenshaw overpass, the California Highway Patrol said.
Police said witnesses saw the man jump about 3:30 p.m. His name was not released as of late Monday.
