The bigger the better

Being an admirer of large men myself, I understand where Arlene Schindler is coming from (“In Southland, a Goodman Is Hard to Find,” April 22).

Even though it’s a little more accepted in the gay world (with the “bears”), it’s still hard to find them. You always come across the twinky, smooth, small-waisted, it’s-all-about-me type. Where are the big, cuddly types that like their bellies rubbed?

Keep your chin up; there’s a big guy out there for all of us who want one.

Yes, yes, yes! Big men rule (now if they’d only recognize that fact).

My late husband was adorable, but it took literally years before he believed what I said. My 30-year-old son recently lost nearly 60 pounds and can’t understand why he seemed to attract more women when he was heavier. I’ve tried to tell him, but he just doesn’t get it.

I have plenty of men friends who are average or slim, even skinny; but romantically speaking, give me Ruben, Teddy, Luther, etc., any time.

And, just an aside, wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could write a column, with real quotes and examples, about men who love large women?!

While I’m not John Goodman or Tony Soprano, I do consider my “stature” to be similar to that of Jack Black.

I loved Schindler’s article. The “girthspeak” translations were dead on, as were the motives that my fellow big men possess.

Keep up the great work!
