Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Charles Woodson and safety Marques Anderson were arrested early Monday on suspicion of public intoxication after the Raiders’ victory over the Tennessee Titans.

The Oakland Police Department said the players were arrested at 4:20 a.m. in downtown Oakland after refusing to leave the back seat of a woman’s car. Both were jailed briefly, police spokeswoman Danielle Ashford said.

“Apparently what happened, an officer in our transportation section was flagged down by a woman who said the men were in the back of her car and wouldn’t get out,” Ashford said. “They were very uncooperative. They had problems maintaining their balance, bloodshot, watery eyes and had a strong odor of alcohol. They were acting in a belligerent manner.”

Woodson, 28, and Anderson, 25, were booked into Oakland City Jail. Both were released between 8 and 9 a.m.

Players were off Monday because the Raiders play Saturday at Kansas City, and Coach Norv Turner hadn’t spoken to Woodson or Anderson.
