MEN

UC Irvine (9-11, 4-7) at Cal State Fullerton (7-12, 3-7), 7, Ch. 23, KUCI-FM (88.3) -- Irvine hasn’t won since Jan. 17 when, in perhaps its best outing of the season, it tagged Fullerton with a 74-67 loss. The Anteaters’ five-game losing streak is their longest since a 14-game skid in 1999. Citing personal reasons, Fullerton guard David Warsaw was a no-show for Saturday’s 69-66 victory over UC Riverside. He started the two previous games but is not expected to be available tonight. The Titans have only three guards among nine players.

No. 19 Utah State (19-1, 11-0) at Cal State Northridge (9-10, 5-6), 7 -- Utah State is the first ranked team to play at Northridge since the Matadors moved to Division I in 1990. Northridge is coming off consecutive road victories over Long Beach State and UC Irvine. With a shorter roster because of suspensions, little-used freshman reserves Austin Waggener and Terrell Jones played well in both games. Utah State, on a 16-game winning streak, will try to avoid looking ahead to Saturday’s game against second-place Pacific, which is one game back in the Big West.

Long Beach State (6-14, 4-7) at UC Riverside (6-12, 3-7), 7, Ch. 64, KPRO (1570), KUCR-FM (88.3) -- The 49ers, losers of three in a row and seven of nine, begin a stretch of three road games critical to their hopes of making the postseason Big West tournament. Senior forward Kevin Roberts passed 1,000 career points Saturday in a loss to Pacific. Riverside has lost five in a row since defeating Long Beach on Jan. 17 at the Pyramid.

Santa Clara (13-11, 5-4) at Loyola Marymount (11-11, 2-7), 7, KXLU-FM (88.9) -- Loyola Marymount faces a must-win situation if it wants to improve its seeding in the West Coast Conference tournament. Forward Sherman Gay, the Lions’ leading scorer, had a total of seven points in losses to Portland and Gonzaga last week. Guard Wes Wardrop has averaged 13.3 points in his last three games after recovering from a foot injury. Santa Clara’s Kyle Bailey is averaging nearly 14 points in conference play and is coming off a season-high 26-point performance against San Diego.

San Diego (4-19, 1-7) at Pepperdine (10-14, 5-4), 7:30, Fox Sports Net 2 -- Pepperdine played one of its best games of the season Saturday in a 71-67 victory over Portland. Glen McGowan had 28 points and 13 rebounds and the Waves outrebounded the Pilots by 19. San Diego stopped a school-record losing streak at 11 games with a victory over Santa Clara on Saturday. Forward Brice Vounang averages 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Toreros, who are 0-10 on the road.

WOMEN

No. 24 Arizona (18-5, 10-2) at UCLA (12-10, 7-6), 7, Pauley Pavilion, KIIS (850) -- The Wildcats moved to the top of the Pac-10 and back into the top 25 by beating Stanford and California last week. Sophomore center Shawntinice Polk averaged 18 points, 16.5 rebounds, five assists and 4.5 blocks in the victories. Arizona has won six of seven, The Bruins have won four of five. UCLA trails USC by two games for fourth place in the conference with five to play.

Arizona State (15-6, 9-3) at USC (12-9, 9-4), 7, Sports Arena -- USC’s two-point loss at Washington on Saturday was costly even though the Trojans are still only 1 1/2 games out of first place in the Pac-10. USC dropped into fourth place but can move back into third by beating the Sun Devils, who have won five in a row. Arizona State beat then-No. 7 Stanford by 20 last week, the Sun Devils’ first victory over a top-10 team since beating No. 2 Stanford in the 2002 Pac-10 tournament.
