Salim Stoudamire had a career-high 37 points and No. 14 Arizona defeated Oregon, 100-87, Thursday night at Eugene, Ore., for the Wildcats’ third consecutive victory.

Hassan Adams had 26 points and 14 rebounds for Arizona (17-6, 9-5), the conference’s second-place team behind top-ranked and undefeated Stanford.

Luke Jackson had a career-high 42 points for Oregon (12-8, 7-6). The senior forward’s previous best was 39 set earlier this season against Oregon State. He also had 10 rebounds.

Arizona led by as many as 16 points in a game marked by technical fouls on both head coaches, Oregon’s Ernie Kent and Arizona’s Lute Olson.

The Ducks, who trailed, 54-38, at the half, pulled to within 83-76 with 7:02 left on Jackson’s layup. But the Wildcats stretched it out again when Channing Frye’s dunk made it 87-76.

Although the Ducks have won 37 of their last 41 games at McArthur Court, the Wildcats have won in their last two visits.

When Jackson’s dunk cut Arizona’s lead to 38-31, Andre Iguodala made a layup and a three-pointer, and Frye made a dunk to give the Wildcats a 45-31 lead and stop the Ducks’ momentum.

Stoudamire was selected Pac-10 player of the week after he had 34 points in Arizona’s 107-83 victory over UCLA last Saturday.

Arizona swept USC and UCLA at home last weekend after losing on the road to Stanford and California.

The Wildcats don’t yet have a sweep on the road this season. They’ve gone without winning two games on a league road trip only three times in the last 18 years. They next play Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore., on Saturday.

The Ducks, meanwhile, need to win nearly all of their remaining five games and have a good showing in the conference tournament to have any hopes of an NCAA tournament bid.

The game marked the return of Oregon point guard Aaron Brooks, who broke his right wrist against UCLA on Jan. 4.

Washington 71, Washington State 67 -- The Huskies (13-9, 8-6) overcame a six-point deficit in the final minute to win for the eighth time in nine games.

Forward Mike Jensen’s three-point basket with 19.9 seconds left clinched the victory, giving Washington a sweep of the Cougars (11-13, 5-9) for the first time since the 2000 season. The Huskies won in Pullman last month.

Jensen’s basket put Washington ahead, 69-67, after Washington State appeared to have clinched the victory after two free throws by Thomas Kelati with 1:04 left gave the Cougars a 67-61 lead.

But Will Conroy made a three-pointer with 57.9 seconds left, and Bobby Jones made a layup with 45.2 seconds left for the Huskies, making the score 67-66.

Oregon State 68, Arizona State 61 -- The Sun Devils (9-14, 3-11) went on a 16-0 run to get to within a point in the second half but couldn’t overcome the lead the Beavers had built at Corvallis, Ore.

The Beavers (10-13, 4-9) made 13 of 14 free throws down the stretch to hold on.

Arizona State had a dismal first half, making only four of 21 shots (19%).

The Beavers went into halftime on a 17-3 run, and the Sun Devils’ 13 first-half points were the fewest they had scored since 1992.
