Goaltender Roman Cechmanek, who has been both brilliant and bewildering for the Kings, will not play Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets because of a groin injury.

Cechmanek will be replaced by Cristobal Huet, who has replaced Cechmanek twice in the Kings’ last three games.

The Kings are expected to recall Mathieu Chouinard from minor-league affiliate Manchester (N.H.) to serve as Huet’s backup in the interim.

Cechmanek left Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Stars after Jere Lehtinen scored 13 minutes into the second period.

“Cechmanek’s got a bit of a groin problem,” said King Coach Andy Murray, who said there was no timetable for Cechmanek’s return. “You know how those groins can be. I can’t really say.”

Cechmanek missed nine games in December and January because of a bruised hip. He is 18-16-6 with a 2.43 goals-against average.

The Kings will recall forward Michael Cammalleri, who scored eight goals in 11 games after being called up from Manchester in mid-November, but did not have a goal in his last 11 games before being sent down in January.

Cammalleri has nine goals and nine assists in 23 games with Manchester. Pavel Rosa, who had a goal and an assist in two games with the Kings, will be returned to Manchester.
